Hello Geography Students,

I hope all of you had a nice three day weekend.

Module 2 should be completed today. I will be closing Module 2 next Monday, February 28th. Please complete all assignments in Module to by next Monday.

I have opened Module 3. In this module, you will be studying North American Geography. It is very important that you have the FCOE working properly. Assignments 3.06-3.07 require you to view a video. The video will be the second listed after you search. In addition, you will need to use the World Book in the FCOE portal.

I know that sometimes, the videos can frustrate some students. Occasionally, there is a problem with the site but it is usually short-lived. If you encounter a problem, return a few hours later and it should be solved. I have checked all of the links in Module 3 and they are all working.

All of you should have an email from me to you and your parents this morning. Please read it carefully. It is a review of all the work you have submitted so far in this course. Module One will be closed late tonight. Be certain to get in any assignments you may have missed that are listed in your email.

Welcome to Clovis Online Geography. Geography is an exciting subject to study especially online.  Learning about people, places and culture lends itself well to online learning because of the many spectacular websites which are available.

Vital to academic success is continued communication between parents/students and the teacher. Please contact me if you have any questions. How to complete the geography course:

1. Check the blog and your email daily for any messages.

2. Complete the assignment that is due each day in the Moodle.  Occasionally, a student is confused about directions or having trouble with a particular website. If this happens, contact me. If you would like complete an assignment daily so that you don’t get behind, you may move ahead to the next assignment and then return to the assignment at a later time.

3. Once the assignment is completed, please submit.

4. Check the grade book daily. Typically, I will correct/evaluate work nightly.

5. Please remember that all passwords for the textbook, quia etc, must be typed in correctly.

6. If you experience difficulties with the moodle, please contact Chai or me.

Welcome to the second week of Geography. I’m impressed with the quality of work students are submitting.  I realize that this is quite a bit of work, but remember, you are earning five credits of geography in a short time.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND GRADE BOOK A FEW TIMES EACH DAY. I HAVE BEEN LEAVING YOU MESSAGES. SOME OF THE MESSAGES ARE INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW!!!!!

Here are a few notes about the course:

1. The moodle will show module 3 first now. This is the module you should be working on. Following module 3, you will see module 4, which you will begin tomorrow.

2. If you have completed all of your assignments on time, you should begin 3.8 today.

3. Please pay close attention to the pacing guide. You will notice that nothing is due on Fridays. Fridays are a catch up day .

4. Remember Thursdays from 8-12, I will be in the Clovis East Library available to help you.

5. Most of you are doing a wonderful job of phoning, texting and emailing me with questions, please continue.

How to Complete the Geography Course:
1.) Go to my Geography Blog every day and review what the expectations and assignments are for the day.
2.)Review the current Module in Moodle, and the due dates for each assignment. Review what assignments are due the current day.
3.)Open the first assignment that is due the current day, read the directions, read through the assignment, then read the directions again.
4.)Start working on the assignment. If questions come up with how the assignment is to be completed, then re-read the directions, please phone me.
5.)If you have any technical issues, e-mail, call or contact Chai, our computer tech. He is excellent, and can help you through computer issues.
6.)Once the assignment is complete, and you have followed all directions, submit the assignment, and I will grade it. Be sure to check the grade book to see what grade you have earned.
7.)Now open the next assignment, and continue until all assignments are complete for the current day.
8.)Please contact me in advance if you plan on leaving for a few days.
9.) Important Note:
Please follow directions carefully when using videos and interactive sites. Remember,
when you are asked to supply a user name and password, it must be typed exactly.
10.) I will be at the Clovis East Library on Thursdays to assist you.
